About us
Jauri Resort is a small, family-owned retreat founded by locals with deep roots in Kemijärvi and long experience in tourism. Inspired by our love for the region, we created a peaceful lakeside escape surrounded by hills, forests, and distant fells—where every season reveals its own magic. We invite you to discover the authentic spirit of Lapland through warm hospitality, local traditions, and meaningful experiences designed with care.
We also take sustainability seriously—valuing both nature and our community in everything we do. Guests are encouraged to explore responsibly using marked trails. Our restaurant features ultra-local ingredients, including fish, root vegetables, and wild mushrooms, and we prioritize local employment. To minimize waste, meals are prepared to order, and clear recycling stations are conveniently located throughout the resort. Small choices, big impact—welcome to mindful Lapland hospitality.
Hotel Building Project
We are expanding our tourism services with the construction of a new hotel building featuring 18 rooms and safari facilities. The building, covering approximately 600 m², is scheduled for completion by 31 October 2025. The total budget of the project is €2.3 million, of which €666,000 is funded by the European Union.
Internationalization and Product Development
With the support of EU rural development funding, we launched a project with a total cost of €79,335, of which €39,667 was covered by EU support. Through this initiative, we carried out various internationalization measures in key global markets. We enhanced our visibility in social media, started collaborating with international travel agencies, and created new nature-based activities, wellness programs, and cultural experiences. These were tested and refined to provide year-round offerings for our guests.
Investment in Resort Services
As part of an EU and LEADER investment project, we improved the facilities in our resort’s activity area. The project cost was €87,000, with €27,840 granted in aid. The development included converting the main building and its surrounding yard into spaces designed for wellness and activity services. Existing downstairs areas were upgraded with new surface materials, lighting, and ventilation. We also built an outdoor terrace and pool connected to the sauna, along with a pier to enhance the lakeside experience.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
We are proud to hold both the Sustainable Travel Finland (STF) and Biosphere certifications, each highlighting our strong commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism. Our operations are firmly rooted in the use of local products and close collaboration with regional partners. We cherish and respect the surrounding nature, ensuring that every service we provide is delivered responsibly and with care.
